Mild Hyperbaric Sessions
Comfortable Airvida soft-chamber mild hyperbaric sessions (also called mild HBOT). The chamber is filled with pressurized air, with optional supplemental oxygen from a concentrator, at approximately 1.2–1.5 ATA. This is a wellness service at our chiropractic clinics — not hospital hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
What mild hyperbaric sessions are at Wholistic Life
At Wholistic Life, mild hyperbaric sessions take place in an Airvida soft-sided chamber. The environment is pressurized above normal room air using a compressor, and some sessions include breathing supplemental oxygen delivered by a concentrator through a mask — not medical oxygen cylinders and not a hospital-grade 100% oxygen chamber.
We describe this clearly as mild HBOT / mild hyperbaric so you know what to expect. It is offered by screening and informed consent, with a staff member monitoring you throughout. It sits alongside chiropractic care and our other wellness modalities as part of root-cause, whole-body care — not as a standalone spa add-on or a substitute for medical treatment.
If you have seen “hyperbaric oxygen” mentioned in connection with our clinics, what we offer is mild hyperbaric wellness sessions, not hospital HBOT.
Mild hyperbaric vs hospital hyperbaric oxygen therapy
| Mild hyperbaric at Wholistic Life (Airvida) | Hospital / medical HBOT | |
|---|---|---|
| Setting | Wellness service in a chiropractic clinic | Medical facility / hospital program |
| Chamber | Soft-sided, air-pressurized | Typically rigid medical chamber |
| Oxygen | Optional concentrator O₂ (not tank-based medical O₂) | Medical-grade oxygen protocols as prescribed |
| Pressure | Mild range, about 1.2–1.5 ATA | Often higher pressures under medical protocols |
| Purpose | Wellness / recovery-support sessions with screening & consent | Prescribed medical care for clinician-directed indications |
| What it is not | Not a disease cure, wound-care HBOT, emergency HBOT, or FDA medical HBOT | — |
One-sentence difference: Our Airvida sessions are mild, soft-chamber, air-pressurized wellness visits with concentrator oxygen — they are not the same as hospital hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
If you have been told you need medical HBOT, tell us. We will help point you toward an appropriate medical program; our wellness chamber is not a substitute.
How an Airvida session works
Pressurized air
The soft chamber is filled with air from a compressor and brought to a mild pressure above everyday room air — approximately 1.2–1.5 ATA.
Optional concentrator oxygen
Some sessions include supplemental O₂ from an oxygen concentrator via a mask. This is not pure medical oxygen from tanks and is not hospital HBOT.
Staff-monitored
A team member stays with you for the session. You can stop at any time.
Screening & informed consent first
We review whether a mild session is appropriate for you before you enter the chamber.
Results vary from person to person. This is wellness support within a broader care plan when it is a good fit.
What to expect: comfort, monitoring, screening & consent
Screening & informed consent
Before a session, we review your health history. Please tell us about lung problems, a history of collapsed lung, ear or sinus issues, pregnancy, fever, or colds (and anything else your clinician asks about). Sessions are offered only after screening and informed consent.
Acclimatization
As the chamber pressurizes, you may feel fullness in your ears — similar to takeoff on a flight. Staff guide you through simple ways to clear your ears. If you are uncomfortable, we stop.
The session
Once at mild pressure, you relax and breathe normally. Many people find the experience comfortable and quiet. Staff monitor you throughout. Electronics: follow staff instructions (typically no phones or tablets inside when the concentrator is on).
Depressurization
The chamber is brought back down slowly. You exit when ready, and we answer any questions about your experience.
Who this wellness service may be a fit for (and who should ask first)
May be a fit to discuss
If you are exploring recovery support, energy and vitality in a wellness context, athletic recovery routines, or you want a calm, monitored modality that pairs with chiropractic care — and you pass screening.
Ask first / may not be appropriate
If you have lung disease or a history of collapsed lung, significant ear or sinus problems that make pressure changes difficult, are pregnant, have a fever or active cold, or have been advised you need medical / hospital HBOT for a clinical indication. When in doubt, call us before booking: (561) 940-2560.
Mild hyperbaric at Wholistic Life is a wellness service. It is not a treatment for wounds, autism, Lyme disease, cancer, concussion, or other medical conditions.
How mild hyperbaric fits with chiropractic and other modalities
Wholistic Life is built around root-cause, whole-body care. Mild hyperbaric sessions can sit alongside:
- Chiropractic care and structural / neurological support
- Plasma frequency therapy and other clinic modalities (e.g. PEMF, red light, infrared sauna when appropriate)
- Broader transformational and family care programs when you are under an ongoing plan
Your team helps decide the order of your care. Mild hyperbaric is one tool among many — not a replacement for examination, chiropractic care, or medical advice.

Frequently asked questions
Is mild hyperbaric the same as hospital hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
No. Our Airvida sessions are mild hyperbaric / mild HBOT in a soft-sided, air-pressurized chamber with optional concentrator oxygen. They are a wellness service, not hospital or medical HBOT for FDA-cleared medical indications, wound care, or emergency protocols.
What pressure do you use in the Airvida chamber?
Sessions are in a mild range of approximately 1.2–1.5 ATA (above normal room air pressure). Exact session parameters are set according to clinic protocol and your screening.
Do you breathe pure medical oxygen from tanks?
No. When supplemental oxygen is used, it comes from an oxygen concentrator, not medical oxygen cylinders. This is one reason our service is not hospital HBOT.
Will I feel claustrophobic or uncomfortable?
The chamber is soft-sided. The most common sensation is ear fullness during pressurization, similar to flying. Many people find the session relaxing once at pressure. Staff monitor you, and you can stop at any time.
Do I need screening or consent before a session?
Yes. Sessions are by screening and informed consent only. Share lung, ear/sinus, pregnancy, fever/cold, and other relevant history before you book or enter the chamber.
Can mild hyperbaric be combined with chiropractic, PEMF, or red light?
Often yes, as part of a coordinated plan — when screening allows and your care team recommends it. Ask at your visit or when you book. See also Plasma Frequency Therapy and our Services hub.
